Nutrition Rehabitation Home Started in Janakur
Regular Checkup Child in NRH Center
An inauguration ceremony was organized jointly by Community Family Welfare Association (CFWA), Janakpur Zonal Hospital and NYF on 29th of December 2010 to formally operate Janakpur Nutrition Re-Habitation Home (JNRH). A total of 81 people participated in the program .In this program, Olga Murrye, the founder of NRH in Nepal and president of NYF, as well as other distinguished guests, local stakeholders and journalists were present. During the program, organizers presented about the objectives of NRH. Medical superintendent of zonal hospital extended words of thanks to supporting organization and promised for coordination and support. All other speakers also extended words of thanks for starting much needed services for children of this zone.
Friend of Needy Children (FNC) has been operating Nutritional Rehabilitation Home (NRH) project in Kathmandu with close collaboration with Nepalese Youth Foundation (NYF) since February 1998. Janakpur NRH has been operating from 2010 December 29.This project has residential facility for malnourished children and their care takers during the treatment course aiming to serve 108 children annually. Program started to reach the following objectives.
1) To rehabilitate severely malnourished children.
2) To educate the care takers on food and nutrition.
During this working period from December 2010 to 15 July 2014, we delivered quality service for 656 children from this NRH Center, among them 432 Male and 224 Female were taken services from this Center. We succeed to cover his/her nutrition support and behavior changed for his/her parents about the importance of nutrition for child and pregnant women.
