Girls Standing Strong

Project Summary: 

Girls Standing Strong (GSS) project is funded by Plan International and being implemented in two palika of Dhanusha district since March 2022. The project has been implementing at Bideha municipality and Janaknandini rural municipality continuously. The main objectives of the project children, adolescents and youths (CAYs), their families and communities change social norms to address root causes of inequality for systemic changes, including challenging stigma and harmful practices and girls, adolescents, and young women have access to stigma-free SRHR information and services, and can make their own decisions about their sexual, reproductive health and rights free from discrimination, coercion and violence. Till now the community people are relies on existing social norms are harmful and must be change. Adolescents and young women are aware about MHM, SRHR and social harmful norms and barriers. This project is very effective in this program implementing area.

Project objectives:

The overall goal of the project is to ensure that all children, adolescent especially girls and young women enjoy the right to live free of CEFM and to fulfill the goal the listed outcomes are expected to achieve during the program period.           

Outcome 1:  All CAY especially girls and young women are empowered to reduce harmful social norms, behaviors and practices that hinders them in reaching their full potential including in humanitarian setting

Outcome 2: Strengthened child-friendly and gender-responsive resources and safety nets through collective efforts of families, communities and service providers)

Outcome 3: Government policies and plan ensure children, adolescent and young people have access to inclusive and gender responsive quality services.

Outcome 4: System strengthening of infromal and formal network, groups, institution on DRM, CC, WASH and humanitarian programming
